apparently not to few watchers were in such a hurry (as usual) didn’t see that this “young woodpecker”
flew into this calm drivers car on his jacket ……….on his arm and stayed there and I want to imagine that this caring man who talked to this “young woodpecker” wouldn’t want anything to happen to this little bird! I bet he found just the place with trees and a wonderful place for this little woodpecker………. He couldn’t leave him in his car!! making him more afraid & solitary in a strange place. I ‘m thinking that
this caring man called briefly back to his office and called in to say he had to take care of something !!
and did find a safe, green place, for this little bird…….I want to think that this happen. This little bird maybe lost his way being so young!!!! I want very much to believe that this caring man continued to talk to this “young woodpecker” and found a safe, green place with trees tucked into a crook of a tree until maybe this caring man left his work for the day and looked for this “young woodpecker” where he placed him and just “maybe” picked him up gently since the bird seem to be comfortable with this caring man and he put him on his jacket on the way back to his car and drove this “young woodpecker” back to his safe, green tree in his protective surroundings!! I’d love to believe that very much!!!!

I wondered about that too…..if he was a baby, or a very young bird. Adult Woodpeckers can be very large birds and this guy certainly wasn’t. Didn’t look there any trees where he took off. I hope he knew how to get to somewhere safe but sadly we’ll never know.

I am thinking he was hit by a car or flew into a window and flew here and landed. He just needed a moment to recover, collect his thoughts before flying home. Or perhaps a baby’s first flight.

Mr. Woodpecker found a wonderfully kind, calm voiced man, who made
him feel very comfortable and safe with him. I hope he was able to return him to
the part of nature he belonged in.

I’m curious what happened after the video. Did he eventually fly off? Did the kind gentleman take him back to the ‘burbs before letting him go? He really seemed to be listening to the driver. Great way to start the day.
