We’re Going On A Bear Hike
FORMER biologist Joel Rosenthal has achieved a lifelong dream – by regularly hiking with his pet bears through the wilderness. At Point of View Farm in West Virginia, 74-year-old Joel lives with five black bears and can go months on end without seeing another human being.

An amazing man and such dedication to the preserving of the bears and respecting that they are wild creatures and need to return to the wild. May you have many years ahead of you to share your life with the bears. Babs

Wow! That’s interesting i have been watching many of these bear videos and notice if you arent afraid the bears will respect you. They dont want to eat people. They are very curious though. It is so cool that Joel is living his dream…
These are Gods creatures and GOD can control thrm alot better than He csn control a human. We have a free will and fight . Bears just do HIS bidding.

Thank you Joel. You are living my dream. You are living it well. I like the comments from the man’s suggestion about orange collars, ribbon around the neck, anything to draw attention that these are special bears. Well, all bears are special. Although it may not help. It may challenge a hunter’s feeble mind, and they will hunt out and kill tame bears as what happened to Pedals, the upright walking bear. Another case they were doing scientific research on a bear who had a radio collar visible and also an orange ribbon. The researchers had put notes in the woods to inform hunters and asked to please not shoot the bear. Yes, some hunter wanted bragging rights so he hunted the bear down and shot him.
Thank you Joel once again. Also, it may not be a good idea to give out too much information about where you are located and being alone. I do agree with you. Animals are better than people any day!

Loved your life story! Could really relate to your feelings. I use to raise orphan baby wild animals such as fawns, raccoons, opossum, hawks, etc. for the division of wildlife and release them back to the wild. I loved it and I understand when you say any animal is preferable to person. You have. Wonderful place there to do this with no interference. You r doing the right thing. Enjoy your life!

That place looks exactly like ours, but we don’t have bears! Coyotes, the occasional mountain lion, skunks, deer! Just love the country!!!!
