I have a yellow one on my corner but have seen a few red or blue in US. I thought the yellow was for every one till the red or blue showed up.

Fire hydrants can be any color the community wishes to paint them. Around here they are mostly yellow, but there are gray hydrants too.

Don’t you know that the police can park anywhere? Do you remember watching Kojak, and he would always find an open parking space at the crime scene?
