Dear Neil, In 1977, I was ill and unable to work for five months. I was already a big fan of yours and my friend, Leslie, brought me her collection of all the albums you had ever released. For that five months, I listened to your music all day long to pass the time and forget about the pain. A couple of years later, I read that you had a serious, painful surgery. My sister had had the same kind of surgery when she was only 22 so I knew up close and personally how awful and painful it was and so I was moved to send you my best wishes for a speedy recovery and I shared how instrumental you were in my healing process. And then, much to my surprise and delight, on May 2, 1979, I received the sweetest thank you card from NEIL DIAMOND!!! The card had the precious frog logo, “…the frog who dreamed of being a king and then became one”, with his guitar on his back and the crown on his head – brilliant! And one of my many favorite songs by YOU! Stones was the first album of yours I bought. I still have that card over forty years later and it still is a thrill to read it and reminisce. Thank you again for the card, thank you for the over 50 years of wonderful music and thank you for your fun rendition of Sweet Caroline to bring humor and a smile to our very negative present situation! You look and sound wonderful! Namaste!

WoW – Thanks for the reminder and the great voice that you still have to inspire those of us at home -sometimes alone, but you helped a lot.

Keep on singing, and all will be reminded not only of YOU and your great voice, but remember – three feet away, keep swaying and singing this day and thanks to your kindness and your remindness( made that one up) to be thankful to others, our neighbors and Mothers.

YOU made my day – and I’d like to say – God Bless you my friend for the message that you send- and all the Hearts you did mend-
    Applause and Applause.
much love and prayers, lura shannon
