Proof that all God’s creatures have value. Three different species living in perfect harmony. Wouldn’t the world be a much better place if we all found value in and respect for those who are unlike us? Leaving the window open allows the bird to venture out when the time is right.

It’s a gentle reminder of the “ripple effect”. Man saves dog, dog saves hummingbird and the hummingbird in turn lets them know that their good deed did not come unappreciated. We should all live and love in this way. Thank you for this wonderfully uplifting and inspiring story. ??

I totally agree Veronica! It is a reminder of a past when life was great and those in our lives will always be remembered and cherished.

What you must understand is that sugar water only hydrates and keeps them warm during cold times. Their nutrition comes from tiny bugs and spiders which they feed on naturally,

Arlene, don’t worry about hummer. There are tiny bugs and spiders in everyone’s house, regardless of how clean people are or how often often they clean their house. But, I thank you for telling that hummers need other food. I for one did not know that.

yes – i had no idea. i thought that hummingbirds could live off of sugar water. it’s a good thing to know in case anyone is rehabbing one. yes, it’s probably finding spiders in the house to supplement its nutrition…

I had a hummer once with a broken leg, hanging be a thread. She would feed sitting on my finger. She flew south that fall, but in the spring she was back, the leg had reattached but was slightly crooked, she immediately got on my finger. The other hummers. Never did that.

I loved it what a wonderful rescue. I really wish there were a lot more people like this kind man to help animals and not hurt them. I am truly an animal lover and try to do anything I can to help animals. I truly admire people that take care of helpless animals.

Connie, it is nice to hear your comments regarding this man . I too wish there were more people like him and his lady friend that takes care of animals and no doubt humans in need. Truly a blessing in this world that is so screwed up that we are forgetting our true purpose on this earth. Connie please check out our facebook page “kind & caring people of the world” and feel free to make comments. Also you are welcome to join. Our aim is to have 1,000,000 friends performing 1,000,000 caring acts of kindness each day anywhere on this planet. Although I am a proud Christian, I am hoping to keep both religion and politics out of it so that we can show others that we are all the same in our feelings towards others. Please let your friends know of us and invite them to also join.

@mike ross. there’s no “lady friend” in the video. at the 1minute 52 second mark, the blonde haired lady that’s shown in the video is Kristine Lazar….she’s the reporter doing the story on this remarkable hero 🙂

Hummingbird Rescue – Awesome
But …. I don’t believe a bird (or any other wild creature) should be kept in captivity.

Did you not watch the whole story? They leave their doors and windows open, so when the hummer thinks it’s time to leave, she is free to do so.

Don’t you get it – this miraculous little bird is free to go whenever it wants to and it certainly is happy in it’s surroundings. The story is certainly awesome.
