To Ali: Many thanks for your e-mail, I will be certain to write to you about my service dog and his sight. If you can help me find a place to help with my dog I and my dog (s) would be so very grateful. He is starting to struggle more with his sight, and I see in his eyes that he looks up and listens intently to where my voice is coming from, follows my directions and we are close together. But the sadness that I feel for him, he is showering me with more love and attention/affection and is always by my side. When I have to go out briefly, he cries when I come home. I guess he thinks I deserted him and left him alone. Thank God for his brother, who must sense that something is going wrong. He too never leaves his side…it has reached the point where his brother (even though I put the food dish directly in front of my dog), his brother pushes either the dish or him closer to the food. He watches out for him and stays by his side as well. What a touching story of love and devotion. Thank you, I will be in touch this evening. I’ll sign off as Lola and you’ll have my e-mail address at that time.

To all that have responded regarding my beloved dog, thank you. I’ll be praying that God sends him to a good eye doctor and that I can get some if not all of his sight back He is such a trooper!!! I will volunteer my services to have the surgery done as I really don’t have that kind of money to put out. I wish I did, he deserves his sight. Everyone deserves their sight.
Thank all of you so much for your concern and support. I’ll keep you posted if I have any news.

I pray that God provide Lola the help she need. Sight is a blessing and the story about the family dog receiving his sight is a miracle from God.

My service dog is six years old. I had him since he was eight weeks old. He developed diabetes last year. He has cataracts and is going blind. I hate to see this happen to him at such a young age. I’m on a fixed income and need both him and his brother to help me. How much is the surgery? Where was it done? My vet told me it runs like $3,000.00 plus. Having two knee replacements, a pinched nerve in my sciatica, concussion, whip lash, living alone, with no help in sight, I was thinking of bartering with the shelter that I adopted my dogs from, to see if I can volunteer my services (even though I’m in such pain), I would do this for my dog. Both dogs saved my life twice, it’s important to me to recipercate. Can you please tell me what I can do, where I can go, being on a fixed income and not well? Please help my dog, I need him desperately. Him and his brother are the only family I have. Many thanks.

Lola, I would start by asking your local vet to check for charities that assist service dogs. Also ask your local humane society.
This organization might be able to help you too. https://www.pawswithacause.org/
Facebook has lots of pages for various charities, you may find what you’re looking for there. If you don’t have a Facebook page, it isn’t hard to figure out how to sign up.

GMA215: thank you so much for your input. I’m also going to contact the facility (shelter) where I got my babies six years ago. I’ll keep everyone posted. Many thanks.
