Yep, you’re correct Joy! Cats have an organ in their mouths called the Jacobson’s Organ. It allows them to get an even better whiff of something. The open mouth and sometimes squinting that go along with it is called the Flehmen Response. I crack up every time I see that look on my cats’ faces.
Actually, the cat was sniffing the bum, as cats will do & when they like a certain scent, they will hold their mouths open like this one! AHHHH!!!! I like eet!!
