Just think that Jelly Roll Morton created this style of piano. music…a takeoff of Stride piano. This is boogie woogie which is a departure from Stride. I saw Jerry Lee Lewis play this style and it is a viable style of music that is embraced by quit few people. Just to think that ONE MAN PLAYED WHAT THESE 2 ARE PLAYING!!!! That is the legacy of such black musicians as : Willie the Lion Smith, Mead Lux Lewis, James P. Johnson and Jelly Roll Morton. They were the antecedants of Fats Waller and Art Tatum, who was considered to be the greatest Stride Pianist ever. Let’s give credance to those African American artists who created this music and perpetuated it.

amazing Jazz Artists so talented MUSIC is such a talent Wish I had continued with my piano lessons, had to give up as the teacher was so strict and used a ruler on the knuckles if a mistake was made. Still love my piano and play by ear. Wish I could go back in time

It’s performances like this that make me wish I learned how to play piano, or any musical instrument for that matter. Love boogie-woogie!
