    Smart Kid, thinking outside the box. How many of us would think to draw a live bat instead of aball bat. Now IF the teacher had said BALL BAT, that would be different.

    This is why American education sucks. The teacher should have rewarded him for ingenous thinking then point out the error of his ways so it would encourage him to be more creative. Instead, the teacher is following the old ritual A=B=C to be dogmatic.

    He did EXCTLY as he was told. It was the teacher that wasn’t more specific. Give this child more than a terrific stamp – more like “I” for integrity, innovation, imagination – – GOOD JOB YOUNG MAN
