This was freaking awesome. What memories it brought back. I owned many of the examples and drove a lot more of them owned by my or my friend’s parents. Thanks for posting. Excellent job. I’d love to have some of my old cars back.

I had a couple of the 60’s, 70’s Ford wagons. They always did what they were designed for, delivering your family in relative safety and comfort while
having plenty of room for groceries, some building supplies, etc. The early days of SUVs, without the fuel economy!

Ford’s station wagon 2-way tailgate was designed by (the recently deceased) Gerry Coker, the same man that penned the shape of Donald Healey’s very successful sports car of the early 1950s, the Healey 100 (to be mass-produced by Austin, becoming the Austin-Healey in 1953).

Gerry also designed the Austin-Healey Sprite, commonly referred to as the Bugeye Sprite!

This picture of he & I was taken on the occasion of Gerry’s 97th birthday (!) in 2019 (he’s wearing the shades). May you rest in peace.

I very much liked seeing the video; I do not understand what if anything is supposed to be funny.

Oh, YES! Once we were able to determine the year, manufacturer, species, (coupe, sedan, single door, “each side”, center post for door swing,
Sky roof, all in a single glance. Today’s autos look all the same except, for the BRAND PLAQUE, and many have dropped all differentation. Be it toyota, Cadillac, Lincoln, or Pontiac (if there is one left). I regularly seek a total remake of a 1958 Edsel 4-door Station wagon, with white wall tires What a beautiful Monster. Alas now we want the small/mid-Range with the open exhaust 4 cylinders & Turbo boost to scare an elephant!!

To Bad our LEAF’ s YES we own two can beat them in the 1/4 mile dash every time. NO clutch, no engine noise, just a whistling sound as I fly past
    0 -65 in 2.3 sec! WHAT A RUSH!
On our run to Cape Cod from Wilmington, we made it over the Sagamore Bridge, found a good Samaritan to re-Charge, and made it here on a single charge. for a middle range (price) we need no more! We love many exotics, but we can settle for the three we have purchased in 5 years time.
