Lovely wee story. Have owned and had a great deal of time with horses and ponies. They bond like children, have favourites, jealousies and dislikes. Very trusting when well trained. One point; C Ros assumption re black race bonding better than white is wrong in every way. Horses, dogs, even wild animals and all human races bond strongly with known friends and family.

i watch the story on the reunion of the horse w/its girlfriend and it’s touching but…all I can find myself thinking about is how easy it is for ppl like the narrator to understand and b moved to such levels of emotion by it yet it is so difficult for the majority of white ppl to extend this level of understanding to see the effect that slavery/racism/ the industrial prison complex has …causing similar disruptions in Black families (PEOPLE not animals) & the embedding of this disruption into the psyche of Black ppl so that generation after generation is affected. So it’s heartwarming story but -for me-so heart rending… all at the same time.
