Actually it is not uncommon for the big cats to lay in
water or swim. I watched a documentary where a lion
was laying in water while watching its prey. They showed different scenes with different big cats in water.

… that’s a piece of meat… obviously its trainer/keeper is throwing it…gives the cat the feel of attacking its prey…
