The U.S. Town With No Cell Phones or Wi-Fi
Imagine this… A town that does not have cell phones or wifi! Pocahontas County in West Virginia falls within the National Radio Quiet Zone. It’s home to quiet country living, friendly people, and one of the most impressive engineering marvels in the world—the Green Bank Telescope.
What did you think of this Pocahontas County? Could you imagine living in a place without these modern day conveniences? Please let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

I grew up in the50′-60’s and we did not have all these things the kids have today,we enjoyed living,, just getting outside instead of sitting around playing with a phone. You cant talk to anyone these days because they are so busy texting etc.. I liked the old days better.. We had friends, not phones..

I agree, this is a good thing. I’ve had people ask me how I get along with only a Tracfone Cell phone. I tell them it’s easy. I’m don’t need all that stuff that you can get on your cellphones now days. My Tracfone does all I need it to do. If it wasn’t for getting it for emergencies only before my parents passed away, I still wouldn’t have any type of cell phone.

I agree totally. It sounds like a great place for a vacation — to “get away from it all.” I live in the Houston area, so all the media are available here. My hobby? Growing butterflies. I DO have a cell phone, but do NOT turn it on when I am driving because I do NOT want the distraction; I DO NOT TEXT. I got mine for emergencies only, although when I am driving away from my area I will call my family when I make stops.

I think it is a good thing also. It is good to have cell phones also in case of a emergency while away from home, or while driving in the car. Never know when car might break down and you have to make a call right then. Now the sizes of cellphones are getting ridiculous!! When you have to hold a cellphone with two hands while talking on it, that is when you know it is too much

I don’t see a thing wrong with it. Lot better than seeing people with a cell phone practically growing off their bodies. Back to basics is not a bad thing.
