The Towns That Embraced Darkness to See Starlight
Light pollution is no joke. As our cities grow bigger and brighter, fewer Americans get to take in the breathtaking grandeur of the Milky Way. Sensing this, the residents of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff, two small towns in Colorado, purposefully dimmed their towns’ lights. Their night skies are now among the darkest on the planet and have become a Mecca for stargazers. What did you think? I hunt on a ranch in South West Texas. no cell phone coverage, nearest town 26 miles North, county seat 45 miles West. The night sky is like here. I took 4 grand daughters out for a short vacation and learn how to handle a gun. They could not believe that is what the sky should look like. I thing there is a power that does not want people to see the night sky as it might make them think there must be a GOD. Religion must be squashed to further the destruction of this country.
