Those Were My Days : Remembering Growing Up in the 1950s
This is a revised edition of a previous video that was on this channel. Parts have been redone and improved. This is my personal recollection of what it was like to grow up in the 1950s. It is not a documentary about the good and bad things of the 1950s. It is personal nostalgia, nothing more. If it is not in this video then it was not part of my life. And yes, I did have a Davy Crockett hat! (And a Captain Video space helmet and a Superman costume and………….) What did you think? What a great video. I just turned 80 and most of those videos are so familiar to me.
Personally, I didn’t care for Davy Crockett, but Superman is still one of my favorites.
Thanks for lighting up my day.

Most of us “had” to have the Davy Crockett hat, the air rifle, and the fringe jacket that was part of the outfit. For that matter, we all had a Mickey Mouse “Mouseketeer” hat as well. Back then, we had the honest, simple, positive role models that entertainment and sports provided during our youth. Unfortunately, no longer the case today.

I had a Davy Crockett and my first car, after the service in 1971, was a ‘59 cad. I’m 72 and considering how today looks, there weren’t any bad times in the 50’s and all good. I watched your film twice and I will store it. “Thanks for the Memories “
