How incredibly sad that these are only memories now. I know that not all was peaceful, no time ever is, but this comes as close as my memory can recall. Large groups of family members gathered and there were more children. It was so exciting to get dressed up for Thanksgiving, making it a very special time. Today families live apart, in states far away. It is difficult to travel from one end of the country to another, to stay at a local motel and still have that sense of family. I found this video heartbreaking. I was born in 1944. This was my life.
