Teen Fashion of the 1960s
A look back at teen fashion trends from the 1960s.
Teenage fashions changed drastically over the course of the 1960s. The early Sixties were conservative, while the late Sixties were the exact opposite. While mothers admired Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn, teens began to break from their parents style. Mini skirts, bellbottoms, and bold prints were beginning to define the new youth movement.
In 1967, fashion shifted to a more counter-culture style that was driven by eccentrics who repurposed clothing for more comfortable wear. The Summer of Love ushered in other fashion trends, heavily influenced by psychedelic rock and the sexual revolution.

Nice memories , peaceful times,
Safe to hitchhike, no rapes or killings.
Crazy clothing , specially to those who couldn’t afford high fashion styles , it was ok to wear the same clothes twice a week
and not be shamed.
Today’s young people can mimic styles, but their hearts are NOT where those sixties people were.
