@DJ –You are absolutley right-I got confused with all the other areas as well–Lake Shore Drive it was-fire trucks had to rescue the people–I remember seeing pics of buses filling up with snow.
This was Chicago during the blizzard last week. To my understanding, there was a breakdown on the highway that caused the initial back up. Intensified by lake effect, the blizzard winds grew stronger. Visibility was zero. As panic heightened with the storm, many left their cars & attempted to walk to safety. One man died. This picture shows the strength of the storm, as well as the horror that must have been felt by people stuck on this stretch of the highway,
No one said it was funny, just impressive. I haven’t that much snow since the early ’70’s when Buffalo, NY got 11 feet & the picture was only rooftops!
