Snake Playing Dead
Hognose snakes will sometimes play dead when they’re threatened by a large predator and can’t get away. They’re such good method actors that they even emit foul odors when playing dead to repel any animals from eating them. Now that’s commitment to a role.
What did you think of this snake’s performance? Please tell us in the comment section below.

Lynn, that is their defense mode to keep from being eaten by predators. Out in the wild, they can lay like that for so long that flies will start coming around them due to the odor that they can put emit. The good thing is that the hog nosed snake is non-poisonous. A bit of information for those on here, If you live in the state of Virginia, it illegal to kill a snake, unless it is being a nuisance, according to the VA Game and Inland Fisheries.
