Sixteen Tons – Low Bass Singer Cover
Tennessee Ernie Ford is a legend and I hope I’ve done his classic tune “Sixteen Tons” justice in this re-imagining of it. Thanks for watching! What did you think? Please leave a comment in the section below and remember to share the video and sign up for our free newsletter!

Loved it. I want to know more about the singer and how it all started. Any biography available?

Great job. I am confused however. Does one singer actually do that whole vocal range? If so who is he and wow!

You did Ernie justice. I heard this song when I was about 4 and have heard about every version of it. I believe Merle Travis had an earlier version of it in the ’40’s. I grew up a dirt poor California Okie and Manual Labor was my brother. I have loaded boxcars and trucks, and cut down trees and chopped wood, cut and loaded scrap iron and many other kinds of work. Hard manual labor makes it easy to relate to this song. And of course, the natural result of all this hard labor is a broken body. At 69 I can sit here and type but that is about it. I really enjoyed your version of this.
