I am just around the corner from 85 and grew up in NYC. The music was just fabulous. We didn’t have a car but a subway & bus. My folks got off the boat from Ireland in 1904 & 1925. Things were not easy but we made life worth living. What a fabulous country. Thank you.

I grew up in CBD Adelaide, Australia. There was a “Rabbitoh”who delivered (dead) rabbits for the table, either skinned or not. The “Iceman’ delivered blocks of ice for the “ice chest”. When he was due to arrive we propped open the front door & he ran through to kitchen. The “Breadman” had a horse drawn cart & if he stayed talking too long, the horse would shake his head & walk on to the next customer. The “Knifeman” came around & sharped knives or sold new ones. The garbage was collected by horse-drawn truck & our mothers sent us out to collect horse manure to fertilise our tiny gardens. Wish I had some photographs, so really enjoyed yours. We didn’t take many because you had to take camera to Chemist (Pharmacy) to have film developed & replaced. Heather

I live in Hervey Bay Queensland Australia and we still have an ice cream truck come around in the warmer days, local bus services and a library that delivers, we must be living in a time warp and I love it !!! and some service [gas] stations offer in car service like I said a time warp.
