Realizing That My Dog Is Getting Old
Laura is doing better and better. I got into a million arguements with various vets about suggested food, medication etc, until eventually it all made sense. But this happened after a lot of researching, a lot of dilemas and a lot of questioning my choices and my instinct. A spinal stroke (Fibrocartilaginous Embolism -FCE) can be misdiagnosed as an epileptic seisure or any other disease that has similar secondary symptoms, like vomiting, loss of bladder control etc. Spinal strokes are rare -they account for 1.25% of all strokes, and they can be very dangerous. I guess Laura was very lucky to survive and make a recovery, but I will keep believing that she survived it because she just would. What did you think? DEAR LUCIA,
MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU, YOU CAN TELL YOU BOTH LOVED EACH OTHER & INSEPARABLE.
I HAD A DOG (PAPASON) WE CALLED HIM POO, I WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING AS YOU, WE
JUST KNOW SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT, TOOK HIM TO THE VET & THEY FOUND A HUGE TUMOR IN
HIS STOMACH, THE VET SAID TO TAKE HIM HOME & ENJOY HIM HE DOESN’T HAVE MUCH TIME
LEFT.
WELL, I TOOK CARE OF HIM, & LIKE YOU SPENT EVERY MOMENT WITH HIM, I KEPT HIM
ALIVE FOR 9 MORE MONTHS. THE VET COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!!! WE HAD A LOT OF DOGS, BUT
HE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN IN MY HEART FOREVER! THANK YOU FOR YOUR

There are no words to subscribe the experience of losing a pet that means so much to a person. I went through a similar experience with my beautiful little Holly. I have always wondered if I could have saved her for little while, but I was unable to because of a scheduled hip replacement, and I didn’t want to leave her in the hands of someone else. I did not try to replace her but the “hole” had to be filled, so I adopted a “rescue” from the local shelter. Missy is old now and I dread having to lose her but I still think about Holly and look at her pictures and still love her so much. She was a part of me gone forever.

Hello, I feel as if I know you after first hearing you on Utube talking about Cinnamon the Cat. How can you describe the emotions that most of us only feel, but cannot put into words. You have a generous heart, a beautiful soul, and perhaps write – as nobody can say it like you. I wish you the very best in life, and a long and healthy life. Lucia from London.
