Cats/ Kittens lick their fur to clean themselves and if the Kitten is still in the mothers care it may get rejected because it maynot recognise,that Kitten as hers, or get very sick from all the chemicals in dyes,even vegetable ones.
Besides All That….. YOU DING BAT whoever,it was, that thought it would be a great idea to do this to a poor little innocent soul, animal, as in this case Kitten……
