These miniature pencil carvings are created by Hungarian artist, Cerkahegyzo, using only a single lead pencil, which he manipulates with files, sandpaper, razor blades and polishing stones.

That work, so tiny and complex had to have been hard on the carver’s eyes. In commercial art classes in college, we had to create complex drawings out of tiny dots. My eyes have never been the same since!! But whoever did this probably used a magnifying glass, and a dremel to carve such intricate and tiny features from the “lead”. Whoever this is must have a very steady hand, and a method to keep the pencils from moving as the carving took place. GREAT TALENT!
