Wonderful story! I have been feeding hummingbirds for years at my summer place
Lincoln Lake. I hang the feeder from the window awning in the kitchen. Able to view

Nice years ago, after cancer surgery saved my life, I walked into my veterinarian’s clinic to pick up food for my Maltese. In the arms of one of the techs, was a four pound Maltese, she had been shaved and was going to the “back room” to meet her maker.
Suddenly, the dog from H_ _ _ that no one could hold at the clinic, flew into my arms and totally buried herself. After learning her story of years of abuse, I ended up driving her one hundred and fifty miles every Thursday for twelve weeks for surgery and then weekly dressing changes on her leg. They could not reattach her torn tendon, but a titanium plate which has been there for nine years this summer, allows her to walk and run. She has since survived liver disease, cancer surgery, and recently, dementia. All of this while I had four heart attacks in five years. Sophia was truly brought into my life by “the Powers from above”, and she will remain here much like Hummer does. Too bad more people cannot see the forest for the trees.

What a beautiful, heartwarming story. “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
-Anatole France. I know God is smiling on you and your little furry friend.

Pio Sian, honey is NOT good for hummingbirds. Please don’t use it. Call Audubon if you don’t believe it.

What makes the love for animals so pure and unique is that it is mainly devoid of three elements that seem to make love so complicated among members of our own species nl: sex, greed and power

This was so meaningful and amazing and awesome, for sure! Hummingbirds are my favorite and I have a painting i did of them years ago and can’t let it go! A dear member of my family is a Vet and i sent it to him and so many others! How wonderful the dog, man and bird are together! How wonderful if all in our world could be the same way, until forever!
