I read the book of the first dog, Shep. I also lived near Ft. Benton, MT many years ago. Each of these stories broke your heart. When I was 12 & lived in ID, a boy of 8 yrs old was riding a bike, when he was hit by a car. His dog was a white German Shepherd. Not long after, the dog died of a broken heart, he loved that boy so. I had a male Siberian Husky I bought at 6 wks old. I loved that dog. His name was Smokey. He was also registered AKC & his full name was Osceola White Cloud. He was 9 yrs old when he died of heart worms. I miss him so much. We have another husky now named Demas. But no one will take the place of Smokey.

What a wonderful tribute you presented! Thank you. Hard not to cry reading each one of them. These dogs were indeed special angels from God above.

I cried after each statement and picture was shown. I thought of my beloved first dog ‘Rexton”, a real ‘Momma’s Boy” went everywhere with me. He was a cock-a-poo and never sick a day in his life. I only had him for nine years where he died of kidney failure after being sick only one week. That was five years ago and I still cry when i see his picture or think about him. i have two beautiful lab/chow/miniature collies from the shelter “Faithful Friends’ in Wilmington, Delaware, and although they’ll never take my beloved Rexton’s place, they have their own personalities to make me love them dearly. This was a touching memorial to all dogs that loved their masters and missed them. Thanks for sharing.

Animals are always being called stupid, crazy, etc. They are actually very smart, very loving, and their love is unconditional. I would love to have a dog that cared that much about me.
