when I was young, all of my family told me my dad had died – You can not lie to a kid- I knew, in my heart, they were not telling me the truth.
Joined the Navy at 17, one night a buddy came back aboard the ship and asked me if I knew someone whose name he just ‘happened’ to find in a phone book in San Diego library – My buddy had the right name BUT THE WRONG ADDRESS AND THE WRONG CITY !
I met my father when I was 20 years old and knew him for the next 50 years !
