    My uncle Sam, who owned a big dairy farm in southwest Virginia in the highlands of the Blue Ridge, had and used border collies for most of his 97 years as a farmer, for herding everything from sheep to pigs. He never herded his dairy cattle with dogs, because they are sensitive and the milk would undoubtedly be ruined. But I saw his dogs drive sheep for miles, into corrals, and drive half-wild pigs out of the oak woods and into pens! Amazing and beautiful! Love this video.

    Border collies are great sheepdogs and apparently great cattledogs too.

    But thinking of what might lie ahead for these bulls gives me pause.

    Very impressive. We have a sheepdog that can herd chickens but is useless with sheep!
