I have two lab/chow/miniature collies. (The size of a small pony.) They reach up to the back of a love seat. When they stand on their hind legs to give me a hug and kiss when I come home from the store (I’m 5’8″) they have their paws on my shoulders. They each weigh over 100 lbs. The vet said I need to put them on a vegetable diet with protein which thank God they love vegetables. Mixed with a little dog food and they just “woof” it down. Pardon the pun….lol. Have a great day on this miserable rainy day!! They don’t want to go out in the rain to do their thing, so we’re having a bit of a time out right now. They’ll let their eyes bulge out before they will go out….and I keep a towel by the door to dry them right off, if I present it to them like a red cape to a bull, they come running to get dried off. Quite a pair.

This is a very smart dog. That would be amazing for a dog to learn sign language. Lola, do your dogs know sign language?

Hello Love: In response to your question, yes my two dogs do know sign language and verbal commands as well. I’ve worked with them since they were eight weeks old (they are now six years old). Not only that, they are my service dogs as well. Saved my life twice. Once via sign, once via verbal. I just recently finished doing two concerts this past weekend, on “Handel’s Messiah.” I’m the only one that can hit that “high C note”…long story short after hours of rehearsal, and two concerts on December 14th, I lost my voice this entire week from too much singing. “What has this got to do with my two dogs you ask?” Well, without a voice, being congested, and in bed 99% of this week just being sick, my dogs followed my sign language, but at one point when I had them out and whistled for them to come back to me, they still wanted out. I tried the sign language, and finally, trying to talk to them in a very low hoarse voice, they both surprised me. They came to me, put their ears to my mouth, so they could hear what I was saying. I’m very fortunate to have these wonderful dogs and also my two seventeen year old cats that act like kittens, with me. Thank you for the question, and I hope I covered all bases in responding to your question. Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Once again if we’re not teaching our children about using weapons and (thinking that its cute), now we’re teaching our pets. As cute as this video is, a reality check needs to be sent to the public. The world is in a mess with so much crime, what good is it going to do for this dog to learn “spread them” except showing that he is highly intellectual? Teach him sign language as I have my two service dogs, now that is amazing!
