We don’t get raccoons here in Australia. However, we do have cats and possums. I have a cat, and shes completely crazy, and my Auntie has Possums in her roof that keep her awake at night. 🙂
Gramms, they are cute as babies, but a momma ate my beautiful calico kitten to feed her babies. NOT cute, and ANY animal can carry rabies, once infected, even humans. Sorry to rain on your parade. When you feed them, they become humanized, lose fear of humans, and can become aggressive, just like the bears in parks.
they are cute but they sure will eat your cat food if they can get to it. I have several very large critters that gooble down the food I put out for the stray cats. I just buy twice as much as usual. They are God’s creatures too.

Opossums are ok when they’re little. I had a couple for pets, when I was a kid. 🙂 It’s when they grow up, they can wreak havoc!
