What’s the difference between parakeets and budgies?

My former roommate was given a parakeet by her sister. He was named Fat Albert and knew his name and repeated it. He had quite a vocabulary but not as much as this adorable, talkative bird. Enjoyed the video.

I once had a bird like him he would talk but not like him.. I named my guy chirpy. When I tucked him in at night that’s when he talked most..
They say they can get a big Vocabulary and he sure has one loved it .Cute bird and pretty

That bird is not a parakeet. In fact, it is a little Aussie Budgerigar. They are amazing little birds and in fact are little parrots. The top end of Australia is home to thousands of these tiny little darlings. They learn to speak very quickly and as a matter of fact I had one who would greet everybody with the words (Hello, I’m Brad the Budgie). If you ever have the opportunity to own one. grab it with both hands (I mean, the opportunity not the Budgie).

These are great pets for senior who are lonely. Instead of talking to marketers/solicitors who rob them blindly because they yearn talking to someone, they should get a little parakeet and when they need a break from the adorable chatterboxes, they can cover their cage.
