B. J. I live in Oregon and have had feeders up for years..I have several pictures of 10 and 12 hummingbirds at one feeder when there are only 6 feeding stations! Awesome birds to watch…I have used over 50 lbs. of sugar 1 summer just to make the nectar for my feeders! God is so great & so good to entertain us with these precious little birds!

We are blessed with summer visits from these little birds and I wonder each year why they are so aggressive when there are two feeders…….they only fight over one. Also we had one Ruby Throat who thrilled us because we could recognize him. Sadly we found him dead about halfway through the season and we wonder that, with the great speed at which they fly, he collided with one of the larger green hummers. Whatever happened, come summer of 2018, we will rejoice to see them and feed them again.

We have always had a hummingbird feeder or two. Fascinating creatures, for sure. Yours was a wonderful presentation. Thanks.

We get a pair each summer; one pair at our home and one pair at our cottage in northern Wisconsin. The pair are generally chasing one another away from the feeder in both places.

Our hummers left after the temp reached into the 40s the last of Sept.
The feeder has been cleaned and we look forward to their return
in April.

Most beautiful little critters. Wish I could get more to come to my feeders every summer. Thanks for sharing this beautiful story with us.

We like the Hummingbird because it is aware of us. Other birds come to a feeder for food but quickly fly away when a human is anywhere near. The Hummingbird is so fast and so agile it seems to have no fear of nearby humans and it knows they have their uses. Any day a Hummingbird flits through the garden seems a little brighter.
