If you are not married to this man, please leave now. Things will only get worse as the relationship continues. A man who is demanding and domineering can only spell trouble. You say he is a sexist, you should think more of yourself than to yoke yourself to someone of this caliber. If you are married, you might consider counseling and sensitivity training.

If he is a sexist, why do you bother? Ignore the request. He will get the picture sooner or later, hopefully sooner and in the mean time you haven’t said anything to damage the relationship.
