An old lady, hunched over with age but still moving with determination, hobbles along the sidewalk, leaning heavily on her cane…
As she approaches the bus stop, she’s singing at the top of her lungs, her voice a little raspy but full of enthusiasm: “21 today, 21 today… “
Standing at the bus stop is a young man, earbuds dangling around his neck, scrolling aimlessly on his phone…
He looks up, startled by the loud singing, and spots the old woman approaching.
He snickers, shaking his head at the sight of her…
“21 today?” he thinks to himself, amused by the ridiculousness of it.
Unable to resist, the young man decides to have some fun…
He calls out to her, his voice dripping with sarcasm, “You’re not 21, you crazy old bat! What are you, like 121?”
The old lady suddenly stops in her tracks, her singing cutting off mid-verse…
Without a word, the old lady grips her cane tightly, raises it high above her head, and swings it down with a loud whack right on top of the young man’s head.
She glares at the young man for a moment, as if daring him to say something else…
But he’s too busy rubbing his head, his bravado completely gone.
With a satisfied nod, she turns away from him and continues on her way, resuming her singing…
