Whatever the subject, bright or dark, he always had a creative funny slant. If you can’t laugh at George you probably can’t laugh.

George Carlin was one of the funniest comedians in the world. I recall first seeing him in 1964 or 1965 on John Davidson’s Summer Show, which was also of the funniest TV programs on the air, and it was only a summer replacement for another program I don’t remember. He played the Hippy-Dippy Weatherman and a few other schtiks.

In his later days, he became very dark and cynical. Still pretty funny, but with a very dark edge.
