I have no understanding of why teenagers are attracted to the things they are, I’m just keeping abreast of the things that are going on in our society culturally. Some time ago it was Harry Potter, then it moved on to teenage girl named Belle in a series of books called Twilight. Hollywood filmed these and now with Twilight ending, they discovered The Hunger Games. These two series feature a strong young woman in the lead and that is what I guess accounts for their appeal with youn women.
Do you keep abreast of cultural things other than those primarily directed at teenagers? I understand the Harry Potter author is writing a new series more aimed to adults.
Ruby, The Hunger Games is a story about the future of our country when our nation goes by a different name and instead of 50 states, the mainland is divide up into districts that have names. From these districts young people are chosen to represent them and to fight to the death on national television, kinda like survivor with a real nasty edge; an updating of the Roman gladitorial games only televise. After the contestants are chosen, they are given a trainer/mentor to help them try to win. Once this training is finish, they are transported to the combat area and are lifted from an underground tunnel and all rise to the top on their own personal lift. When the lifts get to the surface, they make a dash for their weapons. The picture of the dogs reminded me of the scene just as they lifted into the combat area.

The owner probably didn’t have anywhere else to train her Shelties, so she/he came to the park. They are perfectly all in order. Good dogs!

Guard dogs …
Mr, guess it is something one would have to see or read to understand. I still don’t understand what the huge attraction is to this story.

Mr, haven’t seen or read “The Hunger Games” so don’t know what your comment means.
