Oh you silly people! Nothing is wrong with this kitten. I have 4 cats and do funny things like this all the time. Watching them play and being silly is such a joy. Please don’t worry about this cat. He is just being a cat for goodness sakes. The owner would know if something is amiss.
I completely agree with Joanne. Something is just not right. You can see the kitty breathing for a while, but then when the guy taking the video gets up real close to the kitty and her tongue is sticking out, something doesn’t gel. They need to have this cute kitty taken to the vet ASAP. I’m not even sure this kitty was still alive. Wish the guy ran the video longer so we could see that the kitty was alright. I do not think this kitten can “play dead” that long.

Possible scenario:
spotted kitten:leave me alone!
Plain kitten: Never!
Spotted Kitten: Go awa- zzzzz….
Puppies and human babies do the same thing. They’ll be playing, gurgling, etc. and then fall asleep sitting up, holding a toy, etc.
I’ve watched babies do this in high chairs alot. Too cute
I’ve also raised many kittens Kristie … for the kitten’s sake and well being, I would have her/him examined by a vet and not assume anything. It’s called an ounce of prevention.
I beg to differ with you Joanne. I’ve raised a lot of kittens and a lot of them fell asleep where they were. Playing one minute, asleep the next minute. My cat I have now will do the same thing. She will be looking out the window and then is fast asleep sitting up.
The kitten is not playing dead … there is obviously something wrong with it. A kitten does not just suddenly fall asleep. It could be seizures or several other conditions. I would suggest taking the kitten to a vet who can diagnose what is wrong.

He isn’t playing dead. He just doesn’t want to play at all, is too tired from his sibling hanging all over him. Cute picture.
