I do love to read books. Reading from a computer or ipad would not be the same. I love the feel and smell of books. What a shame they would do this to books. Oh and to Jean H, I don’t have room enough to keep all the books I’ve read either so I’ve been donating the ones I don’t want to keep to our local senior center. They enjoy seeing me bring them a bag of books.
I, too, hate to see books destroyed. They couldn’t have just been “placed” there. Something was done to them to keep them from falling down, so they were definitely damaged, somehow, to make them stay still. Probably some college prank, but I still think it’s wrong to destroy books, for whatever reason.
I think there is something more about these photos than what we can see. Why would anyone throw away that many books in that fashion? And how are they staying in that position?
If i lived near by and there were books I liked I’d have to lower his pile every time I went past. Such a waste if they get rained on. I love books. I’m 66 and reading books give me much pleasure.

I’m 66, love books, too; at least they didn’t burn them.

I loved books too but after my shelves were running over I got a Kindle and took my books to Good will for someone else to enjoy.

It’s to bad they couldn’t donate them to a charity or something so could get re-used!

It breaks my heart to see books treated and wasted like that. Ooops…..guess that gives away my age…..I know what a book is, and I still read them.
