Clever Firewood Chopper
This man has invented a very clever contraption for chopping firewood. Instead of using a body’s momentum with an axe, it uses a spring coil to get the job done. And what a great job done it is! That is cool but my husband has a wood splitter which does as well of a job.

To clarify, the spring does not help with splitting – it works to return the weight of the axehead to the upward position – watch the video. This weight must be pulled down with enough force (against spring pressure) to split the log. The real cleverness here is how those forces are balanced – weight vs. spring – to make the operation easier.
And Bob – keep your eyes open so you can see if you need to move your hand….
