Building a Giant Ice Castle
Saranac Lake, NY: In Northern NY, USA (Adirondack Mountains) where for 117 years the local people have built a magical ice palace as the centerpiece to their winter carnival. It takes thousands of 600 pound ice blocks cut from the nearby lake to make the structure and ice carvings. It is entirely built with volunteers and local donations. It’s an incredible community effort that everyone is very proud of. What did you think? Great Video. We lived there for 30 years and seem many Ice Palaces being built and took many pictures They were all shapes and sizes depending on the amount of ice blocks they could get . Winter Carnival was a fun time usually 10 days in February. A great place to live
