My pleasure, Becky. My mom used to be a ranger at Kilauea Point. She had a wonderful sense of humor. When she was taking classes to become a ranger, she was shown a picture of this bird, and was asked to tell what kind of bird it was. Her reply was, “It’s a friggin booby.” The head ranger laughed, and informed her, that there were frigate birds, and blue-footed boobies, but NOT “friggin boobies!” It gave the entire class a good laugh. RIP, Mama. Three years ago this past Tues. I sure miss her.
God makes wonderful and interesting creatures. Yes – thanks Wayne for the cute laugh and to wicked1 for our creature lesson. I didn’t know that these birds even existed. Thanks again Wicked1

I’ve seen these Blue-Footed Boobies at the Kilauea (Lighthouse), Wildlife Refuge on Kauai, Hawaii. I used to live on North Shore of Kauai. 🙂
