An Eye on You
The heart-warming story of Cashew and Libby:
An Eye On You
Cashew, the 14-year-old lab is blind and deaf. Her best friend is 7-year-old Libby, her seeing-eye cat. Libby steers Cashew away from obstacles and leads her to food. Every night she sleeps next to her. The only time they are apart is when Cashew goes for a walk. Without this cat, Cashew would be lost and very, very lonely. Amazing but true: this is one animal that knows what needs to be done and does it day in and day out for her friend. –– Terry Burns

When we walked our 14yr old Collie, Triss our grey tabby used to guide him to all his favourite watering holes. Triss would even protect Laddie from neighbours’ dogs when he was eating a bone in our yard.

I had a cat called Tiger that looked just like Cashew. Thank you, Terry Burns for sharing that with us.

reminds me of 2 cats I used to have… 1 was blind & the other was deaf… leading each other around… actually saw the deaf 1 get in front of the other to stop him a few different times… they were with me for a good 10 or 12 yrs… before God decided He needed them… they died within a few weeks of each other too…
