Most interesting, Pam. The only reason I know anything about the Chartreux breed is because I once had a gray cat named Grace. She only purred, never meowed. The vet told me about that the “Char” breed and said she prob came from that lineage. Hard to know where alley cats have roamed.
That is so true! We had a neighbor who moved and left their pregnant cat behind. We took her in to have her babies, which is where Buffy and Knuckles came to be. She had one girl and three boys, Buffy and Angel are both long hair, and Sonic and Knuckles who are short double coated blue/gray. There is no telling where their Mommy roamed to when she got pregnant. Chances are even though they are litter mates they probably have different fathers. We kept Buffy and Knuckles and found good homes for the other two babies and their Mommy. Mommy was a great mouser so found her a good home on a farm. I would have loved to keep them all. I just love all kitties!
