LIKE I SAID…I ALWAYS PUT CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS AND ALWAYS WILL. BUT I DO KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT SAYS THAT’S WHY THEY DO IT. GO FIGURE. DOESN’T MAKE SENSE TO ME EITHER. CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON !!

CHRIST…That’s only 5 more letters…so I really don’t believe that People are in that big of a Hurry…I mean it’s not like trying to spell “Czechoslovakia”…so, just say MERRY CHRISTMAS…

I, ALSO, LIKE TO SEE CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS. BUT I THINK ALOT OF PEOPLE JUST PUT THE “X” THERE BECAUSE IT’S JUST FASTER. I DON’T THINK THEY MEAN ANYTHING BY LEAVING IT OUT.

Good idea. What I learned is that the X is the Greek letter chi which is the first letter in the word ??????? which means Christos. So, it isn’t actually the X that is Christ, just an abbreviation. I always thought it was something advertisers made up when come to find out it has been around for centuries. Thanks for the suggestion. Sometimes the obvious is obtuse.

xmas is not meant to leave Christ out…in greek the word for christ is chi and is similar to the letter x in the roman alphabet.sometimes xian is used for christian also. it never was intended to leave christ out. you find this information here…
