Isn’t 4 a little young for learning subtraction? I’ll bet he’s going to be home schooled, since he’s already learning math and hasn’t begun kindergarten. I’ll bet his mom was in the powder room when he called! It’s a good thing that the dispatcher is probably a dad, and it wasn’t a busy day for 911, or if another dispatcher had taken the call and gotten all uptight. The boy learned what the purpose of 911 is, but without any negative action. Good lesson!
Randy G, you may be right, but I’m hoping that his mom spoke to the dispatcher before hanging up, so the incident would be a learning lesson, and not in corporal punishment. She’s been teaching him math, and hopefully she taught him what is appropriate for calling 911 and what is not.
That’s just too funny, but I can’t help but wonder where the mother was when the little boy went to the phone in the first place. Luckily, he got a really nice responder on the other end.

Want to bet on that? I wonder what happened after he hung up?

Sounds very mature for a 4 year old.

As we would say, a little unclear on the concept. Where’s the dad?
