10,000 Ducks in a Farm Field
After the rice crop was harvested on a farm in Nakhon Pathom province in Thailand, a flock of around 10,000 ducks was released from a pen – and instinctively streamed towards the flooded fields to devour pests such as snails hiding in the rice stubble. They certainly are NOT starving. They all look fat and happy. After feasting on their favorite canapés in the rice fields for several months, they get to lie around and lay eggs naturally for three years. After that? Ummmm…..anyone for roast duck?

It’s sad that they clip their wings, so they can’t fly away and they keep them in pens as slave workers instead of allowing them to migrate to these areas naturally.
