takes me back to the day when we had a train (Nancy Hanks) running from here (Savannah,Ga) to Atlanta,Ga. Of course the Nancy Hanks didn’t look like the train in this picture! But those were the good old days
yep i have a fuzzy memory about seeing that photo before or maybe it was in one of those old 1920′s movies that used to pop up every now and again a few years back on T C M channel!!!!
if you look closely at the bottom you will find some printing – there is what looks like a 1890 or something – maybe a year – yes it is blurry on one side which is called not as technologically advance focusing as what we have on today’s camaras. Have you ever looked at a train after it has plowed into and drug a vehicle for a ways down a track? Not much damage to the train compared to the vehicle that was hit! Why do so many people get so quick to think everything is Photoshopped?
Thank you Jean, amazing story. Am glad I got to see this beautifull old train. I collect engines especially and do have lots. Yes, they are small, not real, lol
wow
That’s a oooold picture.
…something doesn’t look right to me,,,left sides awful blurry,,,right sides too clear… photo shop???
@ miche, that’s what I thought, also front of train is not wrecked, no dents..

Check out the above link, it talks about this rail accident – the station is in Paris, it occured in 1895
Thanks for the link. I remember of the train wreck in Washington D.C. Union Station, but that involved a diesel engine.
@ KAREN- THANKS FOR THE INFO.
