I think that is a posed picture.Looks like the bunny is just laying there ‘dead’.See the feet. And it looks very much like blood on the neck.

My partner released the rabbit and it bounded off into another area… his need for first aid took priority over making the rabbit a pet or a meal…. those hind feet and claws were worse than a weedeater…

Rabbits are not so docile as the kiddy books and cartoons would have you believe…. did you know that the male will sometimes kill the young ? Because he knows that the Doe (female ) will not come into heat as long as she is nursing the young…. Many species of cats will do the same thing for the same reason… During my Military tour….Ft Hood Texas…. walking guard duty inside a motor pool at night,…my partner and I spot something jumping in the far corner of the chain link fence…… it was a Jack Rabbit…trying to jump over the fence,…but couldn’t jump that high…it would bang into the fence and it’s nose was all bloody from the wire…. My partner hands me his rifle and proudly announces he is going to catch the rabbit…… yes, he did,…and that rabbit used it’s hind feet like a cat and tore big pieces of skin out of the underside of his forearm…. Used half a box of Band-Aid patches to stop the bleeding…
