I find a person who abandons a pet is so very heartless! Scrat, I think you did a very nice thing to pick it up and give it a home!

I have rescued and given a good home to many cats over the years. I never start a day thinking “today I’ll get a new cat”. I have found abandoned, starving kittens in picnic sites, forests, along isolated roads etc. stopped, picked them up and took them home. I get really attached to them and it breaks my heart when they eventually die, (after many years of companionship). No matter how upset I get when I bury them I will still adopt another stray who would soon persih if it was left abandoned along a road.

@BEV- I am depressed without a kitty, a cat makes me happy, out in the flower garden with me and in my lap when I watch TV. I really wish for another one but maby my husband is right. The hurt is GREAT and you don’t get over it, at least I haven’t as yet.

Jean-I can understand that. It does hurt went a pet dies. I would just be so depressed without my cats. I miss them so much when I go on vacation. They like to jump on the bed and greet me when it’s time to get up. I wish I could take them with me but it would be too hard taking care of them on vacation. I also don’t think they would like traveling in the car.

@BEV- I meant that my husband loved our kitty (Velvet) so much and it hurt him so much when she died that he said we would never feel that hurt again by getting another kitty. He is a very caring person and I am sorry if I was not clear on it.

Oh, Jean how sad. My husband loves our cats almost as much as I do. If he told me “never again” He would be “never again”. That’s not mean to him he read this and laughted.

I love this picture and would really love to have a kitty like this one but my 17 yr old kitty died about five years ago and my husband said “never again” so thats that.
