We have a couple bats that come out every evening, just as it is starting to get dark. I’m not sure where they roost during the day tho.

Ok, I go along with you on that one – – they are not fun to have roosting in your attic or anywhere on your home. Their guano can smell horrific; however, they are still vital to the ecosystem. I’ve put up bat houses before and the bats actually use them. There are products that can help keep bats away from your home, but it all boils down to where the animal wants to be. If it’s hell-bent on choosing a particular spot, good luck keeping it out.

they got in the top of our duplex and their feces causes diseases so they had to be cloroxed so we could live here; they squeek and sound like baby rats; creepy. NOT WONDERFUL

They’re bats, and I think they’re wonderful, fascinating creatures, and extremely important to our environment. They eat thousands of pounds of insects every night, which is extremely helpful to farmers and makes our lives much more bearable.
